In January 2021, NMDOT engaged Yearout Energy to perform an Investment Grade Audit (IGA) of 14 buildings located at the District 6 Complex in Milan, NM. The objective of the IGA was to assess current facility conditions and identify opportunities to improve overall operations and performance through an Energy Performance Contract (EPC). These sustainability measures will reduce energy and water consumption, utility and operational costs, generate clean renewable energy, and standardize equipment.

FACILITY IMPROVEMENT MEASURES
- Upgrade existing light fixtures to LED technology
- Install new HVAC equipment and controls
- Install a solar photovoltaic carport
- Install battery energy storage to supplement existing emergency generator capabilities
- Install electric vehicle chargers
- Remediate building envelope air leaks
- Upgrade domestic water fixtures for reduced consumption
